[00:00:18] Hi and welcome. I'm Dr. Michael Schwartz. I am a holistic naturopathic doctor.
[00:00:25] Now, many people are familiar with traditional medicine, but they're not necessarily always familiar with naturopathy. The word truly means following the path of nature to regain your health. And as a naturopath, we don't necessarily treat people as much as nourishing the body back to balance and harmony. Now, the word holistic is a whole other aspect of it, and there simply means mind, body, spirit, and I'm sure you've heard of that and you're kind of familiar with it.
[00:00:56] But from my point of view, it really should be spirit, mind, body, because your spirit is that part of you that is connected to the divine source, to God, to whatever consciousness you want to call it, whatever you want to place on it as a name and as spirit. We are spiritual beings in a material body. As spirit, we are constantly getting guidance and directives. One, to love one another, which we know, and also to bring balance and harmony into everything that we do. So the spirit is what's retrieving the information and the guidance. The mind, on the other hand, is that part of you that manifests the directives, or at least it makes the effort to. And what's interesting about your mind is that in reality, it controls the brain and the brain controls the body. And the body is the physical expression of those internal procedures because your mind is always giving directions and the brain is carrying out those directives to help the body get to where it wants to go and help achieve what the mind is trying to accomplish.
[00:02:15] In other words, the body redirects or reflects what is happening in the mind. Now, from another point of view, there are four aspects to the self.
[00:02:27] And to understand them more clearly, I often use the analogy of an onion. In fact, if you've heard any of my where I was a guest on other shows, you may have already been familiar with it. But fundamentally, it is this that if you imagine an onion, and the core of the onion is your spiritual self, and surrounding that, the very next layer of that is your emotional self. And then on top of the emotional self is your physical self. The next layer out is your material self. And I'll explain to you what each of those represents.
[00:03:07] Now, from one point of view, you're receiving the guidance through your spiritual self.
[00:03:13] Now, your emotional self has a different agenda than your spiritual self.
[00:03:19] And your mind seeks to carry out that agenda more quickly than it does the spiritual self. And then the physical self is the.
[00:03:33] How can I say this really represents whenever There is a conflict between the spiritual self and the social self. When they're out of alignment with each other, then that will end up manifesting as a condition or a disease in the body. And the last outer layer after the material self. And the material self, by the way, is your lifestyle. Because your lifestyle reflects your emotional component, your ego, who it is you think you're supposed to be, how the life you're supposed to live is supposed to be lived, how you act and react to given situations. All of that takes place and is motivated and directed by what is fundamentally your emotional self.
[00:04:19] So your physical self shows the ramifications of conflict. Your material self is the world you're living in, how you live it. Your lifestyle and your social self and your intellectual self, which are kind of one. Are your beliefs and ideas interacting with the world.
[00:04:37] Now, health is, from another point of view, a matter of alignment. Because when the aspects of the self all four are in harmony with each other, flowing the way life should flow. So your actions and reactions are harmonious with your energy, which is how everything flows properly, the systems which regulate themselves. Because your body is a divine creation. And that's how I approach things, and that's how I look at things. And I try to, when it comes to nourishing the body, understanding that it requires the nourishment on both mind, body and spirit in order to grow and be in harmony with each other.
[00:05:22] And when that takes place, that's when natural health appears. That's when you're vibrant, full of vim, vigor and vitality. But when those aspects fall out of alignment with each other, when there is a conflict between them, like the spirit and the emotional self, the body begins to express those symptoms. And sometimes they're uncomfortable. Now, they are not random.
[00:05:50] They are signs to you. Signs, omens, symbols. I use the term symbols, so hopefully you'll get comfortable with it. You know, just like math has symbols, you see a plus sign, you know what to do. A minus, you know what to do. The division, multiply, you know what to do. Well, it's the same thing. Your mind talks to you 24 7. With symbols, signals to help you understand when there is a misalignment. Because misalignment will end up creating a problem.
[00:06:23] So the normal naturopathic approach to healing is what I said earlier. Our goal is not to suppress symptoms, but it's basically to help the body restore alignment. And we work with the body's natural intelligence. Because if it's a divine creation, it has a divine intelligence.
[00:06:43] It knows to Seek balance and harmony. You know, what gets in the way, what's between our ears.
[00:06:51] Marketing, advertising, tv, books we read, the movies we watch, the music we listen to. All of that affects how we think and how it affects us. So what the mind requires and what the body requires are the proper conditions.
[00:07:10] Think of the brain as a biological computer. And I happen to love analogies, and this is one that I think is so appropriate for us and that the mind is the software, it's the programmer. You know, I did a show recently with Ricky Chavez, who does Battle Ready. And both of us being ex military, we talked about the analogy that the mind is kind of like the general and the brain, or are the officers and the cells in the body or the troops carrying out all the directions. In this case, I would have you think of the brain or the mind as the software, the programmer, and the brain being the computer that carries out the programs that you insert. And it's important to understand that, especially if you don't understand what's taking place. And this is where the symbol reading comes into place whenever there's a disharmony.
[00:08:05] And in fact, I used, with Ricky, I used the analogy of a cold.
[00:08:10] When you catch a cold, sometimes one of the things that happens is you'll develop a fever. Well, fever, from my point of view, from a symbolic, energetic point of view, that indicates anger. You're burning up. I mean, you're really angry about something.
[00:08:25] And you know what else comes with a cold? Sore throat. So what is it you can't say, or what's being imposed upon you that. That you don't want to swallow.
[00:08:37] So when there is conflict or stress or stress, the body reflects that conflict externally, like the example I just gave you. So misalignment often begins in many cases with conflict, as I said earlier, between the spiritual and the emotional.
[00:09:00] So one part of you may know what is right, another part, the emotional part, may be reacting emotionally, which is completely different than what your reaction should be. And that is where holistic healing becomes essential. Because when the body begins to result in that conflict, it often results tension and tension, as you know. You know, look at the term hypertension. What does that indicate? It indicates that your body is. You're tensing up. And in tensing up, you constrict blood flow and it puts pressure on your arterial system. So now your blood pressure is going up.
[00:09:48] So with holistic healing, it becomes essential that we begin to seek to understand these things first and foremost. Where is the misalignment? Where is the conflict? What Belief or emotion is creating the conflict.
[00:10:06] And what support does the body need to restore balance and harmony? And since I brought up hypertension, which so many people are dealing with, blood pressure is almost out of control, which, well, you know, blood pressure is regulated by what's called a negative feedback system.
[00:10:23] And so what needs to be done is that system needs to be supported. And in this case, it takes minerals like calcium and magnesium. They're like electrolytes. In fact, I gave the example when I was with Ricky that minerals are like light switches. You know, you go into a room that's dark, you flick the switch, the light goes on.
[00:10:45] Voila, you can see clearly. Well, same thing happens because your mind, sensing that the pressure is going up, tells the brain to send an electrical impulse to tell the nerves that make up the muscles. Hey, guys, slow down, okay? Relax. Let the blood pressure come down. Tells the heart to slow down. So instead of it beating 100 beats a minute, it comes down to 60, 70, something that is more natural.
[00:11:12] Now, because stress compromises your minerals, calcium, magnesium and zinc, there is a breakdown in electrical communication. So when you restore them, when you nurture the negative feedback system, guess what happens? Your blood pressure begins to come down to that 120 over 80.
[00:11:33] So once the imbalance is understood and you begin to support it fundamentally with nutrition, because that's what it's all about. Especially for me, being a naturopath, that's, you know, those are my tools because I'm not the healer. Your body is the healer. You're the healer. But you've got to give the body what it requires in meaningful amounts. And those are keys, okay? Meaningful amounts. These low potency vitamins that are available, that are food grown, food bound, philosophically. Wonderful. But as a naturopath who has clients, I can't do philosophy from that point of view. My people need results. My rule of thumb is, and even with my products, you'll feel an effect or a result in the first program, first bottle where you get your money back. Look, to me, life is really very simple. Either you know what you're doing or, or you don't. Because eventually, if you don't guess what other people find out, it's really that simple. Okay, So I use vitamins, minerals, herbs, and I also help my clients with lifestyle adjustments because you know what? Some of us, some people are so busy striving to improve a lifestyle that they don't necessarily need to have, in a sense, that it's just too much and they're trying to keep up with the Joneses and trying to keep up with the Joneses, they're stressing themselves out. And that lays the foundation for disease and conditions.
[00:13:14] So there are other healing modalities out there. Like I said earlier, you may be comfortable with traditional or more familiar. Let me go there. More familiar with traditional medicine.
[00:13:28] But there are different types of systems in this country besides the. What's called allopathic medicine.
[00:13:37] And that's what our most doctor, medical doctors do is they use medications to relieve symptoms such as pain or inflammation or infections. Antibiotics. And by the way, when you use an antibiotic, it kills all your friendly flora in your intestinal tract.
[00:13:54] And your intestinal tract has microbes that actually help the body make B vitamins. And B vitamins technically are coenzymes. And your body runs on enzymes and proteins, just so you know, so other types of practitioners.
[00:14:17] Because, you know, if pain. And I talked about this earlier, not with you, but with Ricky, when you suppress pain, you're not alleviating. I mean, all you're doing is alleviating the discomfort, but you're not dealing with the root cause. So your disease will continue onward. And what could happen. I'll use arthritis as an example there.
[00:14:39] When you know the pain and the body continues to deteriorate, the joints, the bones are rubbing against bones and the joints are so inflamed and that's where the pain is coming from. And yet you nullify the pain. And even in the health food industry, they sell products to nullify the pain. Not a good approach. You're not dealing with the problem, you're alleviating it. That's not resolution.
[00:15:06] A good naturopath is all about resolution.
[00:15:10] Another type of medicine that's out there is known as osteopathic medicine and osteopathic physicians. They're medical doctors who focus on the relationship between structure and function in the body. Actually in the health food stores, they now divide the store up instead of by brand, it is by structure and function because that allows us to tell the truth according to the FDA laws. So anyway, they often will use manipul manual techniques, kind of like a chiropractor to improve circulation or mobility or the nervous system tolerance. And we all need to be tolerant and imbalance.
[00:15:53] So another aspect is chiropractic care. And chiropractic medicine focuses primarily on the spine and nervous system because when they're out of line, there's a breakdown in communication. When there's a breakdown in communication, something's going to happen. So chiropractors will adjust the spinal Alignment to improve that communication between the brain and body. Remember, the mind operates the brain, the brain operates the body.
[00:16:25] So chiropractic tries to get that aligned. Homeopathy is another unique concept. And actually prior to naturopathy being a thing, it was always about herbs, herbology, and once medical science or science ended up demonstrating that nutrients and vitamins played a major role in health and healing, that's when naturopathy became what it is today. Now homeopathy came about, oh, I guess maybe two, maybe now, 300 years ago, somewhere in there.
[00:17:03] And it has a completely different principle. It uses extremely small amounts of natural substances that is tenturated, their term, to stimulate the body's self healing response.
[00:17:17] And the principle is often summarized as like cures, like.
[00:17:23] And a friend of mine, Dr. King, who is a homeopathic remedy, homeopathic physician and has a company called King Bio, we once were talking about it from an ethereal point of view, from mind, body, spirit point of view. And he said homeopathy works to unblock blocked energy.
[00:17:43] And that's where acupuncture does the very same thing. And if you've never tried it, go to one who actually uses the needles because they're really very effective at helping. And again, nutrition is the main support.
[00:17:59] Now cell salts are another approach to it. And these are micro doses of the minerals that are believed to support cellular function. And again, coming back to balance and harmony, this time within the tissues themselves.
[00:18:16] And this was originally developed by a Dr. William Schussler in the 19th century.
[00:18:23] So there's those kind of physical healings now, of course, being in a modern age, whatever that means, the new age kind of, there's the energetic healing modalities and I've been to a few, not that I participated, but I observed because I find it interesting and sometimes questionable. But there are good practitioners out there and here the healing is really built upon through energy, I guess you could call them facets or fields, balancing the field, balancing in the aura. And you may have seen where people will put their hands along somebody's head and they'll do, you know, one of these numbers and get the energy flowing. And that helps the individual have an insight or an understanding, especially when they're relaxed, because your mind does talk to you.
[00:19:19] The problem is you may not know what the communication is. And we'll get into all those kinds of things as the show continues down the path. Okay, so these hands on, as I mentioned, are one method. And again, it's always about energy, about balancing the energy within the body.
[00:19:41] Because from a scientific standpoint, I'm beginning to prove this more and more every day, that everything in the universe is composed of atoms and the body reflects energy.
[00:19:53] So what happens and why things are the way they are from another point of view. And by the way, you will find that I will always share with you another point of view.
[00:20:05] And the reason for that is because I want to expand your understandings, your knowledge. I'm a firm believer. The more you know, the more you grow. And if you're not growing, consider the fact that you're standing still in an evolving universe.
[00:20:24] And if the universe is evolving and you're not, guess what? You're standing still. We want to change that. We want you to grow, to aspire to the healthy, wonderful, spiritual human being you have the potential to be. Anyway, little sidebar. A little distraction. Well, it's not a distraction. It's information you really need and something you can really work with anyway. Every atom contains an electrical charge, whether it's positive or negative. Now, when atoms join together and they aggregate, they create molecules. Molecules. Guess what they do? They form cells, right? And cells become tissues. And in essence, we're a conglomeration of tissues.
[00:21:12] So that is vital to understand.
[00:21:16] And from that point of view, we actually are an energetic system which explains some things we see in everyday life.
[00:21:26] And those are patterns of behavior.
[00:21:30] Now, what's interesting about patterns of behavior is that they flow in cycles. They're constantly repeating themselves over and over.
[00:21:41] In fact, I had a client, really interesting woman, and she said, you know, Michael, every year around Thanksgiving, right through the first week of January, I end up with a cold. Sometimes it goes severe, sometimes it's not so severe. But nonetheless, I'm sick that whole period of time.
[00:22:03] And she said, every year.
[00:22:05] And I said to her, well, you know, have you questioned about when that started? What was the problem? What was going on?
[00:22:13] Because in reality, and you may already be aware of this, and you may already be seeing this, history does repeat itself.
[00:22:22] And actually, it's in the Bible. Go look. Ecclesiastes, chapter three, verse 15.
[00:22:29] And I'll paraphrase, and it simply says, that which is now hath been, and that which will be is now.
[00:22:39] So that's a pattern of behavior repeating itself in a cyclic form.
[00:22:45] However, what we really want to do is change it from a cycle horizontal into a spiral, so that you are always moving up and getting out of the pattern. Because life is lived repeating patterns one after the other.
[00:23:06] Because some patterns are interwoven with each other. So there's that to consider as well.
[00:23:12] Anyway, we had a long talk. We discovered, you know, what the problem, what happened? And guess what?
[00:23:21] No more colds during Thanksgiving to the winter, through the winter. Anyway, patterns repeat themselves. And the principle here is that life operates through repeating patterns of behavior. For this particular reason, one of the things about every pattern of behavior is that at the end of it, it has a built in expectation and what your mind does. And we'll go back to the biocomputer, a software program, and that's what a pattern is.
[00:23:55] Your mind tries to fulfill the program, fulfills the pattern. And when it does, what that is doing is it's validating the pattern or the concept that created the pattern as being true.
[00:24:13] Okay, not good.
[00:24:16] Anyway, I would say to you, reflect on all of this that we have talked about so far, because the important question is this.
[00:24:27] Do you know the patterns that are operating in your life?
[00:24:32] Because once a pattern is recognized and it can be understood, then that is the beginning of resolution. And that, my friends, is the beginning of transformation.
[00:24:46] So in closing, if you would like to help, if you would like help.
[00:24:52] I get ahead of myself sometimes. If you would like help identifying the patterns in your life, you're welcome to reach out to me.
[00:25:01] And because sometimes even discussing these situations on the program, which we'll do, I never give out names, I just don't do that because I work under the same medical concept in terms of everything is private between me and you, period.
[00:25:19] So don't hesitate, reach out and just remember until the next time, nature does know best.
[00:25:28] Take care.
[00:25:56] Hi and welcome back. Because nature knows best, we're going to start at the first place that is probably the most important. Well, not the most important, because the mind is the most important. But this is where we can begin starting step by step, improving our health. And that begins with the diet.
[00:26:15] If we want to get healthy now, and now is all that exists, right? We have to stay healthy as we grow older. Because as we age, look, the equipment's going to break down over time. It's just the way nature built us. However, if we take care of it, it's kind of like taking care of your automobile.
[00:26:36] You change the oil, you change the filters, you do the maintenance. It's the same thing with your body. And in this case, part of the maintenance is your food, your diet, what you eat, what you drink, what you apply to your skin.
[00:26:53] So the foundation begins with living foods. And what I mean by living foods is that these are fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, and ideally, and I do Believe in ideals. And this one, the food should be organically grown. And that is a very important reason for that.
[00:27:15] Because when you buy conventional foods, they may have been grown in soil that was fertilized chemically, they may have been sprayed. And so when that happens, that those chemicals can end up in the plant as it's growing. And therein lies a problem.
[00:27:35] Because once that begins to happen and then you start eating those foods, well, guess what? And you know, you can say, well, I wash them, really, you know, well, when I get them home. But think about it from this point of view, and I like to use analogies, and in this particular case, we're going to talk about a nicotine patch, especially for those people who want to try to get up, get off of nicotine as a habit, a bad habit. Don't want to, because the smoking does destroy the lungs. Anyway.
[00:28:09] When people place a nicotine patch on their skin, the nicotine passes through the skin and into the bloodstream, which is called transdermal. And in the same way, chemicals that are applied to the plant, not only those that are growing up in the cells, but also applied to the plant, may also be getting into that tissue. And so washing the veggies and the fruits may help. But sometimes, and this the danger, sometimes those substances have already been absorbed into to the food.
[00:28:46] So cellular health is the most important thing. And once the toxins enter the body, they have the potential not only to interfere with normal cellular processes, but they can corrupt the cells as well and break down processes that should be taking place, you know, every moment by moment, your body is creating new cells because it's how you rejuvenate. In fact, someone, we were talking to somebody, I was talking to somebody, we, me and myself, that the body literally regenerates itself every seven years. You're dealing with fundamentally a new body. Of course, some cells all go at different rates of replication.
[00:29:34] In terms of the seven year mark, it's bones.
[00:29:38] You have a new set, a new skeleton every seven years.
[00:29:43] So some cells in three days, some cells in a day. So there's different time periods for everything. What's really interesting is there are three cells that do not replicate. Go figure, right? But it's your brain and nervous system, which is one complete entity, if you will, if you look at it. And another is your heart muscle. And the last is your intestinal tract. They call that the gold gut, a cinch of gult gut associated lymphoid tissue.
[00:30:20] And these three cellular components have built in mechanisms that allow them to replace or Repair themselves.
[00:30:31] However, in the other cells, if the DNA of a cell becomes damaged during the process, and something like the blueprint, which is the DNA, corrupts the cells.
[00:30:46] So then as that cell, as that cell is multiplying, it's multiplying as a damaged cell.
[00:30:57] And. And one of the things that happens is that what that is doing is laying the foundation for disease.
[00:31:05] And at the same time, it's speeding up the aging process.
[00:31:10] So the more living, organic food you bring in, the better.
[00:31:16] And this raises another thing about vegetables and fruits, and that is the fiber content, because fiber is vital to good health.
[00:31:28] And the reason for that is that fiber plays a critical role in digestive health. You know, as the food moves through the intestinal tract, fiber is absorbing water and helps form the bulk of fecal material, right?
[00:31:45] So when the material gets into the colon and is sitting there, what the fiber does is presses against the. The wall of the colon. So bowel evacuation has the same negative feedback system as does blood pressure regulation.
[00:32:03] And in this case, when the colon walls feel that the colon is full, it sends a message to the brain. The brain, in turn, sends electrical impulses down the nerves to tell the muscles to begin to get ready. I think it's called peristalsis. And to get ready to get rid of that fecal matter, to get it out of the body, because the more it sits there, the worse it is. The body will begin to reabsorb that liquid water, and that is toxin, and that will create a problem.
[00:32:39] And what's interesting, and I've had clients tell me this, they say that, well, you know, I have a bowel movement two, three times a week, and they think that that's normal.
[00:32:50] No, it is not. Technically, that's constipation. So if you're dealing with that, just know you have a tendency to be constipated, and that is unhealthy, again, because you're reabsorbing the toxins. Basically, you should have a bowel movement every single day. That way you get rid of the waste out of your body. You know, for. From a holistic point of view. And I explained earlier on that I am a holistic practitioner, and I try to explain to my people that part of constipation is holding on to the past. And I say to them, what is it you're holding on to that no longer is healthy for you? Nonetheless, you're holding onto it. So think about that. If you have a tendency that you're only moving your bowels two or three times a week, you're holding on to something that is impeding your progress, impeding your life from moving forward.
[00:33:50] Anyway, that's just how life is. That's just how it works. Okay?
[00:33:55] So during that time, the toxins, as I said, they're being reabsorbed. And what happens is that over time, it gets even more and more difficult because the muscles become flaccid. You know, no one ever thinks about this, but your brain is like a muscle, which is essential why you need to do exercises, games, puzzles, things of that nature to exercise your mind to get it to work better. By working better, you forestall dementia, senility.
[00:34:32] Well, Alzheimer's is a whole other animal that, that could be because of protein plaque. So again, that may come back to diet because there are things that will pass through what's known as the blood brain barrier, where the nutrients should go past, but some chemicals go past and they can corrupt the interior of the brain, thus creating that kind of problem with brain plaque.
[00:34:58] Anyway, with fresh foods, when it comes to meat, poultry and fish, quality really does matter.
[00:35:07] Put your money into the products you're buying, not into the pharmaceutical coffers or the doctor's pocket.
[00:35:15] Nourish yourself, spend the money on you. You deserve it, you'll make better use of it, because the healthier the animal source, the healthier your food will be for. For you.
[00:35:28] Because one important principle minimizing the amount of blood present in meat, and the reason for that is because it's like the same thing with your own bloodstream. Like I said, you breathing. If you bring in bad food, there's going to be toxins in the food. Where are they going to end up?
[00:35:47] In your bloodstream. What does your bloodstream do? It circles throughout your body, and the cells are drawing their building material, their sustenance, out of the bloodstream. Now, people don't think about this, but every cell eats, breathes, and drinks and processes. Where does that waste go? Back into the bloodstream.
[00:36:12] So you don't want to be consuming because the animal, Cow, beef, cow, beef, one and the same, cows, pork. That blood is getting in there. Actually, with pork, the reason pork is white, interestingly enough, is that the creature, the pig, is anemic.
[00:36:34] Okay? And I'm not saying eat pork, because there's a whole thing in the Bible about that. But I am saying that if you're going to eat beef, drain the blood thereof. I don't know if you may remember that when Noah got out of the ark and he was going to make a sacrifice, that's What God said, if you're going to, you know, cook the meat for me, drain the blood thereof because it's dirty. So the less of that you consume, the healthier you will be.
[00:36:59] So for thousands of years many cultures emphasized draining the blood from animal food sources because they knew so. And again, even in the Bible I told you that story.
[00:37:13] So the principle is simple. The fewer the toxins entering into your body, the healthier you will be.
[00:37:23] We're going to take a short break and when we come back, we're going to be talking about dairy products. And let me give you a fundamental rule of thumb.
[00:37:31] Less is best. I'm not anti dairy. I love cheese. Some cheese are fabulous, some eh, not so much. But less of consuming anything is better because there is a teaching.
[00:37:45] Excess leads to rejection. We'll be back shortly.
[00:38:13] Hi and welcome back. You know, when we left off, we're going to get into the dairy products which I said less is best. So when it comes to dairy products, you want to do the very same thing that we do with meat and that is find clean sources because there's so much stuff that goes into the cow to keep it healthy. And even there's a thing called, I think it's bht, which kind of a growth hormone, which is really interesting because if you've noticed some of the young kids today, their bodies are hairless and men seem to be developing boobs at younger ages than they should. Too much meat coming into the system. Ideally you want animals, especially farm raised, that are fed not chemically induced foods or antibiotics. And I think I may have mentioned it somewhere, if not here in another show about, I think Purdue makes a claim about not giving their chickens antibiotics.
[00:39:17] When it comes to water, you know, hydration is essential.
[00:39:21] You got to keep the kidneys clean because. And the kidneys, they do so much. It's absolutely astounding. And every time I learn something new about the kidneys, it kind of like, oh, it's an OMG moment, right? An epiphany. Wow, I never thought about it from that way. And that's also what I'm trying to do with you, is get you to think and look at things from a different point of view. To have you think about it and have an epiphany and omg, OMG that. Wow. I never considered that. I never thought about that.
[00:39:54] You know, we're so busy being distracted by life. In fact there are people that have a pattern of distraction. I've talked about patterns and as time goes on in the show, I will Bring in more patterns. Because from a different point of view, your diet is very patternistic. You may, and I may have said this early in the beginning, I say so much, I don't remember everything I say. I have some timers. At my age, I'm allowed. And you may have them too. Sometimes I'll forget what to tell you. Sometimes I'll tell you too, too much.
[00:40:27] What can I say? At any rate, forgot where I was. And that happens too. But water is essential not only for hydration, but it supports circulation. We talked about it in terms of bowel evacuation and also through going through the kidneys, which we also kind of mentioned a little bit. Because what the kidneys do is filter out the toxins that your cells give up that are liquid and they get filtered out and get eliminated from the body when it comes to water.
[00:41:00] Personally, I'm an advocate of distilled water. And I know there are a lot of people that say, no, distilled water is bad for you because it'll drain all your minerals out. And my answer to that is, I don't have an answer. I just say, well, that's nonsense.
[00:41:19] Because your kidneys. Because all that water. Let's go there. All that water which is in the bloodstream, which goes through the kidneys. The kidneys knows what to do. It knows what vitamins to keep, what minerals to keep, and what toxins to get out of the body. And the toxins that leave the body, they're all in the urine.
[00:41:42] Now, sometimes the kidneys do develop kidney stones, and I know I talked about this somewhere, and kidney stones may also show up. Well, it's a lack of holding, it is a lack of not utilizing the calcium, which I did say was symbolic of strength, and that's a whole other story. But your kidneys will maintain the minerals and vitamins that are essential for good health, unless there is an emotional issue or why you would deny your own strength. And in that case, you do end up with kidney stones or bone spurs or spinal stenosis. That's where the calcium aggregates on the bones anyway.
[00:42:27] So I like distilled water. Even when I travel, I try to get distilled water. The only one I found out there is smart water.
[00:42:36] So. And sometimes, like when I came here, I. I brought a gallon of distilled water from home. We have an automatic distiller, runs. Whenever you empty the tank, it automatically kicks on and makes new water anyway, so the ideal diet, and I may have talked about with you all this earlier, but if not, it is what I call the 8020 rule. And in this case it's 80% raw foods, your veggies, your fruits, 15% cooked. That takes care of your flesh foods. And 5%, I call it junk.
[00:43:12] Because. And there's a reason for that, because I get asked this when I do lectures and I say, 5% junk. And somebody say, michael, why? What's with the junk? And the reason is this.
[00:43:24] If you're trying to get your kids into a healthy mood, if you're trying to get your significant other to eating in a healthier mode to improve their health and well being, they may indulge when you're not around, when they're off at work, whenever. And that indulgence will negate. Especially if you say, no indulgences, you got to stick to the diet. Well, they're going to resent that. That resentment will undo all of the good you're trying to accomplish. So allow the 5%. And I've had people tell me, Michael, 80%, that's outrageous. I can't do that. What is something more, you know, realistic? And my answer to that is 60% raw, 30% cooked, 10% junk.
[00:44:17] However, what I will say to that is, don't do the 10% every hour, on the hour.
[00:44:24] You know, you don't have to indulge yourself that much. And in fact, indulgence may be one of those patterns that works against you.
[00:44:33] And because we live our life by patterns and what we don't understand. And here's something else to ponder, and I'd like you to really think about this, because everything begins as a thought.
[00:44:49] You can't think of anything that didn't begin as a thought. Look at your tv, look at a chair, look at the glass, look at the cup.
[00:44:58] It all began with somebody thinking, oh, this is a better way to hold water. This is a better way to sit. This is a better way to watch. You know, everything starts as a thought.
[00:45:10] Everything.
[00:45:12] So your concepts, which began as a thought, thoughts that you learned from your parents, your concepts are what created the patterns of behavior.
[00:45:20] And if you can understand your patterns of behavior, guess what? You're ahead of the game.
[00:45:26] And you need to change the patterns. You need to understand them, gain control over them. So instead of your pattern constantly going like this, repeating itself, you can begin to go like that, spiraling upward, evolving. And I think I used the analogy earlier. If you don't change, you keep going along the same way, then in the universe that's constantly expanding, you're in regression.
[00:45:53] Anyway, little sidebars I Like them, kind of like the salad bar, which is the next thing when you go to a salad bar and they and you should eat salads. Again, we're back to living foods. They give you the enzymes, they give you the fiber, they give you vitamins and minerals. Assuming they're all organically grown, they will be chemical free, which is real beauty of it. But when it comes to salad, then we look at the dressings and I go to salad bars a lot and what blows me away is the dressings that people drown the salad. Even if you go out to dinner, I always tell them put the dressing on the side. And we always get balsamic vinegar and olive oil. And the reason for that is simple. First off, in all of the commercial salad dressings, they're too heavy, they're too many calories, there's too many chemicals. Balsamic vinegar and olive oil are ideal. And one of the things with olive oil there is a constituent, AKA a chemical. But I don't like to use the word depositive.
[00:46:59] There is a constituent in olive oil that kills cancer.
[00:47:05] How about that? So you should do olive oil. It really is one of the better things that you can do for yourself.
[00:47:13] So what I would like to say to you and coming up to our closing, which I've already said almost everything I have to say, well, actually that's not true.
[00:47:22] Okay.
[00:47:23] I have so much information that I have gained over the years with working with clients. You know, from a different point of view, all of us are teachers to each other and God and nature are teachers.
[00:47:42] This is one of the reasons why it's taught to have eyes to see and ears to hear.
[00:47:49] Because you are constantly be giving guidance.
[00:47:54] You know, your mind talks to you 24, 7.
[00:47:57] Even dreams are a form of guidance. What they do is they tell you. And this is what your mind is trying to tell you throughout the day. Because your mind knows that your personal history, like the history of humanity is repeating itself.
[00:48:19] And in doing so, your mind is trying to tell you, hey, check this out, you're in a particular pattern. And that pattern is somewhere along the line and it's going to unfold. And every pattern has a built in expectation at the end. I may have said this earlier, however, I'll say it again, it's worth repeating. Has a built in expectation at the end. And all that expectation does validates the pattern as being true even when it works against you.
[00:48:54] And you know as well as I do, you have certain patterns that do work against you.
[00:49:02] They distract you. You know, some patterns make you late someday. Say, well, why? You know what. What difference does that make? Well, if you're late consistently, you may miss opportunities for. For completing a project means you may miss an opportunity for a promotion. It means you could miss an important event which could hold you back in life.
[00:49:26] Question everything you know. Ask and you shall receive.
[00:49:31] Stop asking God for everything. God said, I've given you dominion over everything.
[00:49:36] So start asking yourself, how can I make things better? What can I do? How can I grow myself and look to nature? You know why?
[00:49:48] She's a great teacher. And the truth of the matter is, nature really knows best.
[00:49:56] So join me again and learn more about how you can grow yourself into a healthier, happier human being. Thanks for your time.
